REAL Marketing & Advertising on BUS!

hahahahahaha

this is another experience of mine during my trip going home.
YUP!
I took a huge bus named "ARIMBI" to reach my destination (reach? am i using the proper vocabulary? whatever)

the bus was quite nice..
it was clean, cold, and there was a seat left for me.

I sat in the two row from the back...
before the bus started moving, there was already a man (a sales man probably) standing in front, he was facing all the passages in the bus.

he started explaining the product which he was going to sell.
it was a....what we call it..flash light? (senter)
he explained everything in great way.
I even wondered whether he ever took "marketing language" course or not.
he did it using amazing way (yeah I've mentioned it before..)

he compared the 'senter' he was selling with other cheap 'senter' which people usually use.
he compared the cost between those two products (the batteries needed and etc)
he mentioned the 'real' price of the product in the store ( because it is cheaper if we get it now from him)
he also guarantee that the product will be long lasting . (if we get the product don not work after a month we purchase it, we can find him (he mentioned that he always stands by in the bus stop) and exchange with the new one)

really good way of advertising.

since I am taking 'advertising' class this semester,
I can see that that man applied almost every important aspects to gain customers' interest.
'find the bad sides of other products and attack them using the good aspects from his product'
'related everything he said to his customers' behavior'
'offer safety to his customers (guarantee)'

but the question is,
"is it true?"
"is there any guarantee you will there when we want to exchange our products?'

and let's think
the passages of the bus I was taking, were not only coming from Kebun Jeruk
The bus first stop is "Kampung Rambutan"
so, I don't think people who come from far far away will come to 'Kebun jeruk' to find him and exchange the 'senter' if it is broken. (the cost of transportation will much more expensive that the cost of the product)
so, I think it was only "sweet promise" to convince customers that the product will be long lasting... (BASA BASI)

and,
another techniques which I saw as another trick from the seller was when he showed his concern to the passage.

he said,
"I hope you'll reach your destination safely and remember NEVER TRUST ANYONE WHO YOU JUST MEET (on the bus)"

I was smiling when I heard this sentence,

my head was also screaming, "you meant YOU?"

OMG! he was so smart
he even warned people not to trust anybody they just know for a second (including him as well)

the hidden message of his speech was
'I told you not to trust anyone you just meet for a second, so..it's not my fault if you got trick and buy this product..I told you, don't trust anyone you just meet!"

hahahahaha

lots of smart people in the unpredictable places..

*I didn't purchase the product
it is not because I noticed his tricks, but...
I didn't have enough money left to purchase one...
HAHAHAHAHA
