Most of people do negotiation almost everyday. The ability to negotiate is the most important skill anyone can hold in daily life. There are many purposes why people do negotiation. For examples, teenager negotiates with a parent before she/he can go out on Saturday day, or sisters who negotiate with one another about TV show schedule. Even in English, we have to learn the basic of negotiation system and language.
In business, negotiating skills are used for a variety of reasons, such as negotiate a salary, promotion, work’s specification, and etc. Here some examples from the article; manager and clerk : negotiating a promotion, business partner A and B: Making decisions about investments, Customer and Client: Making a sale, and etc That why there is “the art of negotiating”. Some techniques and skills that aid people in the negotiating process include;
· Aiming high
· Visualizing the end results
· Treating one’s opponent with respect and honesty
· Preparing ahead of time
· Exhibiting confidence
There is no way one can master negotiating skill without practice. And speaking practice that put someone in negotiable condition will help learners learn how to use good language to negotiate.
